Travel That Transforms

During a visit to Dar Atlas in the High Atlas Mountains in 2019, Keri encountered a very special village dedicated to giving vulnerable and abandoned children something every child deserves: a safe home, a loving family environment, an education, and the opportunity to build a future. She was profoundly moved by the village and the people behind its mission and something big in her was ignited.

In 2020, Keri co-founded AFAK, American Friends of Atlas Kinder — a US 501c3 foundation to help bring greater awareness, resources, and support to the children of Dar Atlas.

Today, her work with AFAK is an integral part of her life in Morocco. 

Drawing on her decades of experience in communications, marketing, and fundraising, as Executive Director of AFAK, Keri uses her  international network to connect people who share a similar passion of giving every child a brighter future.

From building partnerships and engaging donors to helping sustain the village’s essential programs, Keri works with her team to ensure that the children receive the care and opportunities they need to flourish. The mission is not simply to meet immediate needs, but to help create the foundations for confident, independent futures.
