“I am thinking about the incredible week I spent in Marrakech. I am thinking about riding a camel through the desert. I am thinking about hiking through the Atlas mountains and “dropping in” at a Berber family's home for some mint tea. I am thinking about wandering through the Majorelle gardens and being awestruck in the YSL museum. But mostly I am thinking of the people that I met on this journey. The kind Moroccans who transformed my vision of the Arab culture. I am thinking of the women in the co-ops that I met that were so proud of their work and whose spirit and sense of humor transcended our language barriers. And I am thinking of the women with whom I took this journey with. We all lept before we looked. We barely knew each other (if we knew each other at all) before we took this journey, but we put our faith in the most extraordinary host- Keri Levitt and Morocco by Design, who curated a trip for us that was beyond our wildest imaginations and created a sisterhood that crossed divides of culture and conception.
